About DBT
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based form of therapy developed by Marsha Linehan. It teaches practical skills in four areas:
Mindfulness
Paying attention to the present moment on purpose and without judgment.
Distress Tolerance
Getting through painful moments without making things worse.
Emotion Regulation
Understanding emotions and changing the ones you want to change.
Interpersonal Effectiveness
Asking for what you need, saying no, and keeping relationships healthy.
This site helps you find a skill that fits a situation. It does not replace professional therapy.
